These billionaires have managed to maintain their wealth even through many market turmoil and also have survived the much dreaded Covid 19 pandemic. In fact, some of the biggest names have even made a substantial gain during the said period.

No. 10 – Kumar Birla

After the death of his father, Aditya Birla, Kumar Birla took over the Aditya Birla Group in 1995. Kumar Birla, who is ranked 131st on the list of the world’s richest people, has a net worth of $15.8 billion, making him the 10th richest person in India. The group is involved in cement and aluminium production, as well as retailing, communications, and financial sectors.

No. 09 – Pallonji Mistry

At no. Pallonji Mistry, an enigmatic tycoon, owns the 156-year-old Shapoorji Pallonji Group, which is based in Mumbai. His net worth is $16.4 billion. SP Group is best known for owning the popular Eureka Forbes brand.

No. 08 – Uday Kotak

With a respectable $16.5 billion wealth, Uday Kotak occupies the eighth position in the list of top billionaires in India. He is the founder of Kotak Mahindra Bank which is amongst the top private banks in the country.

No. 07 – Savitri Jindal

At the seventh position is the country’s richest woman with a total net worth of $18 billion. She took over the position of Chairperson of the OP Jindal Group after the demise of her husband. Jindal group business includes steel, power, cement, and infrastructure.

No. 06 – Lakshmi Mittal

With a total net worth of $18.8 billion, Lakshmi Mittal, the Chairman of ArcelorMittal finds himself at the number six spot in the top billionaire’s list. As a familiar name in this list, he heads the world’s largest steel company.

No. 05 – Cyrus Poonawalla

Cyrus Poonawalla has a net worth of $19 billion and heads the Serum Institute of India. The name came into being in 1966, SII produces over 1.5 billion doses annually for various diseases. They are best known in recent times for producing the lifesaving Covishield vaccine.

No. 04 – Radhakishan Damani

The fourth richest person in India, the much revered Radhakishan Damani has a net worth of $ 29.4 billion. Founder of the largest supermarket chain – Dmart, he is known as the retail king and has not looked back since his holding company Avenue Supermarts went public in 2017.

No. 03 – Shiv Nadar

Co-founder of HCL, Shiv Nadar has a net worth of $31 billion. As an IT pioneer, HCL is one of the biggest names in software service providers. He is also known for his philanthropist work through Shiv Nadar Foundation.

No. 02 – Gautam Adani

The 15th richest man in the world according to Forbes, Gautam Adani is the second richest Indian with a net worth of $ 71.7 billion. Adani Group’s business includes Infrastructure, Power Generation and Transmission, Edible Oil, Real Estate, and Defence.

No. 01 – Mukesh Ambani

Mukesh Ambani still remains the top richest man in India with a whopping $92.7 billion. As the Chairman of Reliance Industries has been in this position for the past 10 years now. Even during the Covid pandemic, he was able to raise $ 20 billion by selling 1/3rd shares of Jio to renowned investors.
