Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT) spans 886 acres of land and has a built-up area of 62 million square feet. It consists of office buildings, educational institutions, housing, healthcare facilities, restaurants, hotels, clubs, retail stores, and a variety of leisure amenities. It also features a welcoming multi-service special trade area and a private residential area. The market has labeled GIFT City as an Indian planned commercial zone.

GIFT is envisioned as a worldwide Financial and Information Technology Services hub, the first of its type in India, with the goal of competing with or exceeding world-class financial centers such as Shinjuku, Tokyo, Lujiazui, and Shanghai, La Defense, Paris, and London Dockyards.

Goal of Gift City

As a Greenfield project, GIFT is intended as a Commercial & IT/ITeS Central Business District (CBD) between Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. GIFT City will be a component of Ahmedabad’s and Gandhinagar’s prospective urban metropolis. More specifically, cutting-edge connections, infrastructures, and transit facilities have been included in the city’s architecture. 

The GIFT city Master Plan displays a systematic and structured strategy that fits the planned program within the site’s and regions current contexts. GIFT is intended to become a modern paradigm in India, furthering the concepts of sustainability and ecology. The proposal redevelops the region as a high-quality, mixed-use neighborhood with housing, corporate, civic, and green space amenities that maximize land through the work-to-work principle.

As per the city’s official web page, the city is outfitted with cutting-edge technology and modern infrastructure service delivery that meets worldwide living and working standards. Furthermore, GIFT City is home to the country’s first IFSC, or International Financial Services Center. The global city that will be built in GIFT City would also help to create over 1.5 lakh employment for the country’s youth. Out of this projected 1.5 lakh employment 30,000 jobs are expected to be created in the next couple of years.

Furthermore, the city would improve Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and administration, as well as push tech-enabled taxation. The GIFT City’s objective is to establish an extraordinary IT and socioeconomic district in India that would provide solutions and services to both Indian domestic as well as the global market.

Aside from that, the budget provided loan assistance of 20,000 crore INR through a bill to help small enterprises, MSMEs, and corporations engaged in priority sectors such as development and production. A 1,500 million INR plan to expedite cashless transactions in India was also introduced in the budget.

With all these expedited development and the advanced infrastructure the Gift City traffic 30,000 plus is not a distant dream and may be realized sooner than one can imagine.
